There is no weekly flyer at Full Moon Bar-B-Que, no coupon page and no aggressive discounting, and it does not need any of that: the menu is already the cheapest in chain barbecue. The savings here come from knowing which items are mispriced in your favor. Five of them are, and one is free.

The standing value orders
The pork sandwich is the headline. At $6.99 it undercuts City BBQ ($8.39), Mission BBQ ($8.89), Sonny's ($9.29), Dickey's ($9.75) and Famous Dave's ($15.59) — more than half the price of the last one. No coupon at any of those chains closes that gap.
The per-bone rib math
Rib sandwiches are sold by the bone, and the price per bone drops as you add them:

Three bones at $3.00 each against $3.69 for one is an 19 percent per-bone discount for ordering up. If ribs are why you came but $16.99 for a plate is more than you want to spend, the 3-bone sandwich is the answer.
Where the menu is not a deal
Two places worth knowing, because they look like deals and are not.
Buffalo Wings. Twenty for $39.80 is $1.99 a wing. Ten for $19.99 is $2.00 a wing. Six for $11.99 is also $2.00. Ordering the twenty-count saves eighteen cents against two ten-counts — this is a portion size, not a bulk discount.
Large sizes. The large BBQ Pork Sandwich is $8.29 against $6.99, and the large Fried Green Tomatoes are $8.69 against $5.69 for three pieces. Both are fine if you want more food; neither is cheaper per bite in any way that shows up as a saving.
The vegetable of the day
Full Moon runs a rotating vegetable of the day whose price varies by location, and it is the closest thing on this menu to a daily special. It is also the reason to ask a question at the counter: what is on today, and which of the vegetables are meat-free. Greens and beans in a Southern kitchen are frequently cooked with pork, so the answer matters if you are ordering the vegetable plate.
The free item
The best deal at Full Moon costs nothing. The Half Moon Cookie — a large chocolate chip cookie — comes free with every meal, is not sold as a menu item and is barely advertised. Among the chains covered here, only Jim 'N Nick's gives something away comparably, with its cheese biscuits. Sonny's gives nothing.
Best time to go
Full Moon opens at 10:30 and closes at 21:00, or 20:00 on Sundays, which is earlier on the front end than most chains. The practical windows:
- 10:30–11:30 — quietest, and the pork has just come off the smoker
- 11:30–13:00 — the Birmingham lunch rush; expect a queue
- 14:00–16:30 — quiet, but ribs occasionally sell out
- 17:00–19:00 — second rush
