The two best deals: Sticky Crush and Hot Mama
Both land at $22.50 and both are wings-plus-a-frozen-drink, and both are the best value on the menu by a wide margin.
The Sticky Crush Special pairs sticky wings with a Hennessy Crush. Ordered separately, Sticky Wings (5) is $13.99 and a Large Hennessy Crush is $20.99 — $34.98 for the pair. The special saves you $12.48. The Hot Mama Special does the same trick with hot wings and a Moscato build: Hot Wings (5) at $13.99 plus a TX Moscato Mamacita at $19.99 is $33.98, so the special saves $11.48.
Those are not marketing discounts. They are the two cheapest ways to get a Texas-size cognac drink into your hand at this chain, and the food comes attached.
Wings, Shrimp & Drinks for 1 — $25.00
The solo bundle, and it is popular enough that it appears in the most-ordered list rather than buried in the specials. Priced against the components: Shrimp & Wings at $13.99 plus a Large Frozen Cocktail (Serves 1) at $16.99 comes to $30.98, so the bundle saves about $6. Less dramatic than the $22.50 pair, but it is a complete meal with a Texas-size drink for twenty-five dollars in Manhattan.
Super Tsunami & Wild West Combo — $40.00
Two Super Texas frozen builds bundled together. The comparison depends on which builds you would otherwise buy: a Super Texas Sized Frozen Cocktail is $24.99, the Super TX Classic Henny Colada is $29.99 and the Super Texas Hennessy Colada is $31.49. Two of anything in that range runs $50 to $63, so $40.00 for the pair saves between $10 and $23. This is a special for four people, not two — a single Super Texas is already a shared object.
Super Slider Combo — $25.00 and Double Trouble — $44.99
The Super Slider Combo at $25.00 bundles a slider platter with drinks. Sliders run $12.99 pulled pork, $12.99 crispy cod, $13.99 BBQ brisket, so with a Texas-size drink at $16.99 you are ahead by roughly $5.
Double Trouble at $44.99 is the outlier. It is a stacked shareable burger that lives in both the burger section and the specials list, and it is not really a discount — it is a spectacle priced like one. Two Double Cheeseburgers at $23.99 would cost $47.98, so you save three dollars and get one enormous object instead of two normal ones. Order it for a table that wants a photograph.
What beats the specials
Two everyday items undercut the entire specials board. The Chicken & Baby Back Ribs Combo at $17.99 is a half chicken plus baby backs for five dollars more than the chicken alone, and the Super TX Moscato Mamacita at $19.99 is a Super Texas drink priced at the Texas-size rate — the only place on the frozen list where the largest size costs the same as the middle one. Availability varies
Say this plainly: the specials list rotates and it is not identical in every dining room. Roughly a dozen locations spread across Chelsea, Times Square, Harlem, the Upper West Side, the East Village, Downtown Brooklyn and Fordham do not all run the same board on the same night, and the 1800 margarita line in particular reads like a promotional tie-in that will not be there forever.
