The single most useful fact: Mission BBQ does not run a separate takeout pricing tier. A brisket sandwich ordered on the app is $13.19, the same as it is on the tray in front of you. Many chains quietly add 5 to 10 percent to takeout; this one does not.
The app
Mission BBQ's own app carries the full menu, handles pickup and curbside where offered, and is where the chain announces its genuine promotions — including the appreciation-day offers covered in the military discount guide. If you eat there more than a few times a year it is the channel to use.

Two things the online flow tends not to surface: the Black Plate Special, which is a location-level daily item, and requests such as "half lean, half moist" on a Meat Market order. Both are trivial to arrange on the phone.
Getting a better takeout order
- Ask for sauce on the side. The default is unsauced anyway, but chopped brisket arrives lightly sauced — say so if you want it dry.
- Order chopped rather than sliced brisket if you are more than 15 minutes from home.
- Ask for meat unsliced on by-the-pound orders. A whole piece holds moisture far better and takes thirty seconds to cut at home.
- Take cornbread — at $0.99 it is the cheapest thing on the menu and it survives transport.
- Skip the fries. They do not travel.
Curbside and pickup timing
Most locations offer curbside collection. The practical timing advice mirrors the hours guide: avoid 12:15–13:00 on weekdays, when the kitchen is running the walk-in lunch rush alongside online tickets.
For catering, book collection 30 to 45 minutes before you plan to serve rather than on the hour.
